Enhancing People-to-People Exchange and Educational Cooperation: HHT, V-International &Tropicana Academy Launch Vocational Internship Program

On July 20, a hybrid conference (combining in-person and online participation) took place at Hanoi Vocational College of Technology (HHT) to officially launch a strategic tripartite cooperation program between HHT, V-International Marketing & Business Services Co., Ltd., and Tropicana Academy (Malaysia). This initiative aims to establish a integrated work-and-study program offering paid internships in Malaysia for HHT students, with a primary focus on Hospitality, Languages, Economics, and Tourism.
The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of HHT, and Standing Vice President of the Hanoi Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association; Ambassador Nguyen Duc Hung, Vice President of the Central Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association; Dr. Victoria Doan Bich Hanh, Executive Director of V-International; Mr. Dato’ Michael Leong, Founder & Executive Director of Tropicana Academy; alongside representatives from various departments and faculties of HHT and representatives from Hanoi Metropolitan University.
During the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Khanh provided an overview of HHT’s development journey and emphasized the college’s commitment to expanding international career progression pathways for vocational students. Mr. Dato’ Michael Leong and Ms. Victoria Doan Bich Hanh presented in detail the long-standing international educational partnerships of Tropicana Academy, which are based on a vocational training framework approved by the Malaysian Government that combines practical workplace experience with theoretical instruction.
The participating parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding admission standards, foreign language training requirements, and student management and oversight mechanisms in Malaysia. High school graduates with basic conversational English skills and current HHT students will participate in a one-year paid work-and-study program in Kuala Lumpur, earning an International Level IV Certificate approved and awarded by the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. To best prepare the students, V-International and HHT will jointly organize short-term English training courses prior to their departure for Malaysia, if necessary.
All parties reached a high level of consensus on the entire implementation plan and agreed to proceed with the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the tripartite collaboration in the near future. This agreement establishes a solid legal and organizational foundation for student recruitment and dispatch, enabling young vocational talents to enhance their practical skills, earn an attractive income, and meet the rigorous standards of the global labor market. Once implemented, this project will serve as a vital bridge to consolidate and elevate the effectiveness of the tripartite partnership, fully aligning with the people-to-people diplomacy objectives of the Hanoi Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association.
