Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh congratulated the Vietnam Green Transformation Association on successfully organizing its Congress.
A Historic Milestone for Sustainability
On January 28, 2026, the association held its First National Congress in Hanoi. Approximately 300 delegates attended the event. Consequently, this gathering marked a formal start for the 2026–2030 term. High-ranking officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, were present to offer support.

Importantly, V-International is a member of VGA. The company actively serves within the Green Urban Industry Committee. As a result, V-International will directly support the association’s mission to decarbonize urban areas.

Strategy for National Competitiveness
During the Congress, President Dang Huy Dong spoke about the future of Green Transition Vietnam. He argued that green policies are no longer optional. Instead, they are now a vital national strategy. Because global markets now demand carbon taxes and traceability, Vietnam must adapt quickly.

Mr. Dang Huy Dong, former Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Chairman of the Vietnam Green Transformation Association, delivered the opening speech at the Congress.
Specifically, the country faces a unique “window of opportunity.” First, there is a strong political will for Net Zero. Second, Vietnam can adopt new technologies without old infrastructure hurdles. Therefore, international investors are looking at Vietnam as a transparent green partner.
Technology and the Carbon Economy
The Green Transition Vietnam roadmap relies heavily on deep decarbonization. Specifically, the President highlighted carbon capture as a core solution. Without these technologies, reaching Net Zero remains difficult.
For instance, Vietnam produces 165 million tons of agricultural waste yearly. If we process this waste into biochar, we can generate 60 million tons of carbon credits. Thus, environmental protection becomes a profitable new export sector.
The Role of VGA and V-International
The VGA acts as a bridge between the government and the private sector. It connects policy, technology, and capital. Within this framework, the Green Urban Industry Committee plays a vital role. V-International, as a key member, will focus on sustainable city solutions.

Leadership for the 2026–2030 Term
The Congress elected an Executive Committee of 36 members. Mr. Dang Huy Dong will lead as President. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Quang Vinh serves as Vice President. Together with members like V-International, they will accelerate Green Transition Vietnam.
